How we make money

We're an introducer, not a lender or an adviser

Equiclear does not lend money and does not provide financial advice directly. When you check your options on this site, we pass your details to a suitably authorised mortgage broker, who provides the regulated advice and, if appropriate, arranges a secured loan, remortgage or further advance on your behalf.

The introducer fee

If you go on to proceed with a broker after we introduce you, we receive a fee for that introduction. This is standard practice across the mortgage and secured lending industry, and it's how we're able to offer the guides, calculators and initial assessment on this site for free.

The fee we receive does not come out of your pocket directly, and it does not change the rate or terms you're offered. It's paid to us by the broker or lender as part of their own cost of acquiring customers, in the same way many comparison and introduction services are funded.

Does this affect the advice you get?

No. Once you're introduced to a broker, they're responsible for giving you regulated, suitable advice based on your circumstances, not on what's best for Equiclear. If a secured loan, remortgage or further advance isn't right for you, a good broker will tell you that honestly, and may point you toward other options, including free debt advice, instead.

Checking your options is free

There's no cost and no obligation to check your options on this site. You only move forward with a broker, and any fees that might apply at that stage, if you decide to proceed after speaking with them.
