Equiclear uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, measure performance, and (with your consent) measure marketing effectiveness. This page explains what we use, why, and how to change your choice at any time. We comply with UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Quick summary: essential cookies are always set. Analytics (Google Analytics) and marketing (Meta Pixel) cookies are only set if you click Accept on our cookie banner. Click Reject and we set neither. You can change your mind at any time using the button near the bottom of this page.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site recognise you on future visits and remember things like your preferences and analytics identifiers. Some last only for your current browser session; others persist for days, months or years. We also use similar technologies, such as local storage, which behave like cookies for the purposes of this policy.

Cookie categories we use

1. Essential cookies (always on)

Required for the site to function. We don't need consent for these under PECR because they're strictly necessary.

  • cookieConsent: stores your cookie consent choice for 6 months. First-party, local storage.
  • Cloudflare security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm): used by our hosting provider to distinguish humans from bots. Session-length, first-party.

2. Analytics cookies (require consent)

Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Set only after you click Accept.

  • _ga and _ga_*: Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes unique users and sessions. Up to 2-year duration. Third-party (Google).

3. Marketing cookies (require consent)

Used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Set only after you click Accept.

  • _fbp and _fbc: Meta (Facebook) Pixel. Identifies browsers for Meta advertising and click attribution. 90-day duration. Third-party (Meta).

If you click Reject, Meta Pixel is not loaded on your visit: no cookies are set and no data is sent to Meta.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no consensus on how this should be interpreted, so we honour your explicit choice via the cookie banner instead.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
